Language Arts:
The story of the week is The Keeping Quilt by Patricia Polacco. This story is a personal narrative, non-fiction story about a woman and her ancestors and the quilt they all grew up with.

Writing: The students have completed paragraph one of their 3 paragraph informative report on planets. This week we are
pre-writing paragraph 2 and then editing it and polishing it.

Math:
We will complete a quick unit on measuring lengths, parallel and perpendicular lines, and types of quadrilaterals. After the Unit Test on Tuesday, we will jump in to comparing numbers and rounding.

Social Studies:
All the third grade classes are busy studying communities, why they start and where they start. We will be learning about Native Americans and their customs and places to settle.

A quadrilateral is a shape with opposite sides that are equal lenght.

A square is a quadrilateral.
