LANGUAGE
The story of the week is the Ballad of Mulan, the story of a brave young girl who goes and fights for her country. We will do some fun Chinese Character Writing and learn great facts about the country of China. It is in the continent of ASIA. Following is the spelling list for the week. The Spelling Test will be Friday, September 30, 2011. The spelling pattern is short vowel sounds.

MATH
The students in Room #1 are just beginning to work on addition and subtraction with numbers containing more than one digit. There are several strategies to learn which will make it more understandable for each student. Decide which adding strategy you like best.

Science:


This week will be the conclusion of our Unit on the Earth, Moon, and Sun. Be prepared to review for a Unit test by the end of the week. Next week we will start our Social Studies Unit on Communities.
